Harvard Medical School implements Kindle support for all their 20,000 educational resources at HMS.

This is big – http://geekdoctor.blogspot.com/2008/10/kindle-for-medical-education.html.

And …

We’re rolling this out by giving a few students free Kindles to pilot the new Mycourses functionality.

The kindle has much more potential than people realize. SusanKay at booksummit had written about how she was using the Kindle to find and store recipes.

I think as people get time to play around with it, more and more innovative uses will come up. The Verizon cable installation ad is another idea that comes to mind. And amazon really needs to let people develop apps for it. I personally commit to creating a folders app that lets you setup folders and organize books if they open up the Kindle. No guarantees on how good it’ll be – but it’ll be functional. Amazon – just open it up – look at how well it worked out for Microsoft with Windows, and Apple with iPhone apps.
