First courtesy Randy Foster, we have a free children’s book – The Velveteen Rabbit (illustrated) by Margery Williams at Munseys. There are a variety of formats available including Kindle/MobiPocket.
Munseys also has some other great illustrated books for children including My Father’s Dragon by Ruth Stiles Gannett. And they have 1800+ children’s books in all. The Velveteen Rabbit and My Father’s Dragon were just added today.
Next, we have some Kindle Store Children’s Book Deals (thanks to Barbara Clements for pointing these out), including -
- Jungle Book, Treasure Island, etc. for $.50 only. (please note that you could probably find these for free on manybooks.net).
- Peter Rabbit Stories (Four Illustrated Stories in One Volume)
for just $.80.
I wonder if anyone will be bringing out game books on the Kindle – the ones where you can choose option 1 and go to page 58, or choose option 2 and go to page 93. I think that would work really well on the Kindle.

Hey there, back at ya! Working on adding a couple of illustrated children’s titles for the Kindle every day now. Only one, Dante’s Divine Comedy, for Friday, but that took… a while.
Love your site!
Are all the illustrations from the original books in the Kindle version too? How good are the visuals on a Kindle?
I need to know if with Kindle 2 I can find books for kids. what reading levels I can find? I have a 7 years old girl that hates to read and I think Kindle 2 would be great for her. I’m pretty sure that K2 will encourage her to read more. I don’t mind to pay $350.00 I just need to know if K2 has book for kids and what levels. thanks
Sheylah,
