Jan 5th update – Added the blogversity contest. I’ve covered three ‘win a free kindle’ contests in the recent past. I’ll usually post details on new contests on the blog as a separate post – however this post will always have ongoing contests and giveaways so you can bookmark this and use it as a resource to check back occasionally for new contests.

Current Free Kindle Contests  

1. Blogiversity is having a contest with three prizes – one of which is a kindle. You must enter before end Feb 2009, and you have to write blog posts and all your blog post scores will be totalled up.
2. Joseph Devon’s blog. Read his book and suggest a name.
3. R W Ridley is going to have another free kindle giveaway in early 2009. 

We’ve also had two kindles given away at booksummit – it definitely works to generate a lot of traffic. If you have a Kindle giveaway you want to promote leave a comment.

Past ‘Win a Kindle’ Contests

There are also some free kindle contests from earlier in the year I’ve missed -

1. ITWorld has one for November – don’t know if its still ongoing.
2. Catalyst has a free kindle contest, except it might have ended already or it might be an ongoing contest – they have 3 OneDay dates, and the first one was November 20th. Also they need you to register, and will email you and stuff.
3. May or may not work (was posted on Oct 28th – Register to win a Kindle…just text message the Acxiom number 39763 with the word CONNECT…I suppose you should be here, but hey. Information wants to be free.]
4. Samhain Publishing has a contest to give away two kindles in December. You’re supposed to check out Angela James’ blog on December 1st.
5. I’m not going to link to them – however, Outskirts Publishing has a ‘publish your book with us, win a kindle free’ contest, except I think their package costs nearly a thousand dollars. So the kindle, even if you do win, will be anything but free.  
6. Citizen Sugar’s Free Kindle Giveaway (ended Oct 20th 2008?) 
7. Author Island gave away two free Kindles in July. They also have various contests ongoing – unfortunately no more free kindles at the moment.
8. Belle Scarlet gave one away in May 2008.
9. Amazon gave away a Kindle for reviewing books in their BreakThrough Author Contest in January (this one we did write about – they also had a $2000 gift certificate). They’re having another one in Feb 2009. Perhaps they’ll have a free kindle 2.0 this year? 
10. Don Jones and Greg Shields at Concentrated Technology gave away a Kindle (perhaps in June – this is where i got the idea to give away kindles at booksummit). 
11. R W Ridley’s blog. A great book for free – answer question to win. Ends Dec 2008. Dec 16th update: Mr. Ridley will announce the winner on January 1st (via YouTube).
12. Surpass hosting had a Haiku Contest to win a free Kindle in August 2008.
