There are a surprisingly large number of kindle forums and groups scattered about the internet. I’m listing these so that -
- Kindle owners can go find like minded souls and good kindle information.
- Kindle Authors can go talk about their free book and other offers at the various kindle forums.
- Prospective kindle owners can go get an opinion (also feel free to leave a comment on this blog).
So, without much ado, here is the list -
- Official Amazon Kindle Forum - There are 20 to 30 posts a day.
- Kindle Korner on Yahoo - The biggest non official forum with 2800 or so members. There are 40 or so new messages every day.
- BookSummit - A Social Network for kindle owners with a bunch of groups (each with their own forums) and a main kindle forum. 680 members. A few posts every day. Edit: I run this and would appreciate it if you’d give it a try – thanks.
- MobileRead Kindle Forum – 10 or so new posts a day. This is great for technically inclined owners.
- Kindle Chat group at Google Groups Couldn’t figure out number of members. A few posts every month.
- LibraryThing Kindle Group – 69 members. A few posts every month.
- Shelfari Kindle Group – 67 members. A few posts every month.
- GoodReads Kindle Group – 38 members. A few posts every day.
- Facebook Kindle Group – 888 members. A few posts a day.
The last 4 groups are good if you’re already part of one of the networks. The first 4 are the best ones in my opinion, with MobileRead great if you want a more technical perspective, kindle korner great if you want a pure message board, and booksummit best if you want more of a profile and ‘friending’ and other social network features.

I’m really surprised you missed KindleBoards. It’s definitely one of my favorites at this point.
