The business of business is to make a profit. Therefore, I see Amazon making changes to Kindle in small increments rather than a nearly different product. Some people will buy the latest model, no matter what. If it's profitable, Amazon may offer a "trade-in" program, or sell upgrades to Kindle software. I don't understand why Kindle has two sets of controls; one on the left and one on the right. Probably to appeal to lefties. But, everyone turns book pages from the right side -- even lefties! So why did they make it difficult to hold the Kindle when left side controls don't serve a useful purpose. Was it bureaucratic power over design engineering?

What's missing
is the human capacity
for taking a small number of facts
and doing endless speculation

And speaking of that
I think Kindle 2.0
will be put off
several times more
as the technology
and the competition increases

But!
Look for a software update or two

And if 2.0 comes out
in the form suggested by the rumors
I hope its software upgrade
works on my original
