Amazon has finally added a section in the Kindle Store that is focused on all the Kindle special offers and free books available for the Kindle.
It looks pretty good and currently features various free book offers that have all been covered recently -
- 5 Free Sci-Fi novels that are all the first book in a series. Robin Hobb, Naomi Novik etc.
- 16 Free Romance Novels.
- A couple $1 Book Offers – Please Unbound and Empress.
- A Buy One Get One Book Free Offer on Carrie Vaughn’s books.
- A Free Lee Child book (Persuader).
It does not include Public Domain books and that’s actually a good decision.
Hopefully Amazon keeps this Kindle Book Deals section well stocked and updated regularly.

This is terrific and long overdue. But I wish Amazon would promote some of the $1 offerings by independent authors who don’t have the advantage of having an established publisher behind them. Madison McGraw’s “Justify the Means” and “Mighty Hammer Down” by David Guyton are two suggestions; both are great reads for 99¢ that support the little guy.
It also doesn’t include ALL free non-public domain books. The Wild’s Call (Kindle Edition) by Jeri Smith-Ready if free and not on the list. I wonder why that is?
hmm…looking through the Deals page I see several free books left off the list.
