So why one more electronic device to raise the cost of education? Many campuses have wifi connections, why can’t digital textbooks be provided already via the Web to the students’ laptops?

Digital textbooks should require a lot of interactivity features that just work a lot better on a real Web browser rather than the limitations of the Kindle in handling CSS/XHTML and related technologies.

With all that in mind, I see the new Kindle as more for the general reader, including newspaper readers.
