Sony seems to be taking full advantage of the Kindle’s absence from the UK. Waterstones UK have the Sony Reader (older model PRS505) available for £199. That’s $318 approximately.
You can get it in the US for $299 so it might not seem like a deal – however, everything really is more expensive in the UK and the Sony normally is 225-229 pounds.
Wouldn’t normally write about Sony – However, Kindle UK isn’t available so the Sony Reader is an option. The list price at Waterstones is £224 so its a decent £25 savings. It shows the stock as 10+ so no idea how long they’ll be available for.
Note1: This is the older model and doesn’t have the touchscreen – however, it has better readability and is better than the new model overall (check reviews of the two if you’d like).
Note2: Customer reviews have indicated that the selection of ebooks at Waterstones is rather appalling so do check that they have some/most of the books you’d like. Rather conveniently Waterstone’s have an ebook sale going on too.
