Kindle DX Photo Gallery

Thanks to my friend for taking some kindle dx photos (of my dx which is still in Seattle) and sending them in. Love how he compared it with the Kindle 1 and the screensaver he chose.

Feel free to use these photos for your own kindle dx review or article (you can link to the pictures hosted on my site and that’s ok). Do link back.

Kindle DX Front and Back View

  1. Kindle DX Front View -

On the plus side the screen takes up most of the real estate as it should. On the ngeative side, the keyboard is too tiny and the missing left side buttons hurt.

  2. Kindle DX Back View -

 Kindle DX Vs Kindle 1

A comparison of the Kindle DX with the Kindle 1 -

  1. Under a bright light -
Kindle DX - The screen is as big as the Kindle 1. Literally!

Kindle DX Thickness (or lack thereof)

Kindle DX is really, really thin (just like the Kindle 2, though not as thin) -

Kindle DX - thinner than a pencil

Kindle DX - thinner than a pencil

Thoughts on the Kindle DX’s looks

Its interesting that although the Kindle DX is a different line from the Kindle Amazon decided to go with an identical look (as the Kindle 2). A simple touch like a different color (black perhaps) or one design tweak (2 special buttons for PDFs or perhaps a special button to auto-rotate and lock orientation) would have differentiated it.

Also, the name says ‘amazon kindle’ not ‘amazon kindle dx’.

For good kindle dx photos, check -

  1. Photos of PDFs and the Kindle DX  at Brent Newhall’s Kindle DX PDF Page.
  2. Kindle dx review with lots of photos at Jef’s tech blog

As opposed to a lot of mainstream reviews that have only photos of the Kindle DX, these includes photos of the DX in use, including them displaying technical PDFs and more.

Finally, you can get the Kindle DX at amazon.
