Kindle Accessories from Kindle Chaos

This isn’t a review – just a look at the products they’re offering and some general thoughts.

Kindle Chaos is a company selling some interesting kindle cases, covers, skins and screen protectors. They have some pretty reasonable looking prices so thought it might interest you.

Kindle Glovez Fitted Leather Case for Kindle 2

This is a fitted case that lets you access all the keys, the keypad and all the ports while still providing protection. The screen and keyboard are covered – probably some sort of transparent plastic.

  1. Its available in brown, red and pink.
  2. Priced at $24.95.
  3. There are little holes in the back for the speakers (in addition to the strange-ish cuts at the sides).

There is also a Kindle 1 and Kindle 2 compatible sleeve that’s more of the ‘carry your kindle in it’ and doesn’t let you read while in the sleeve. It’s also TSA Rapid Scan compliant (whatever that means). The black version looks quite nice and is for $29.99.

Kindle Shells

These are interesting and have the EZ Flip™ kickstand that lets you prop them up for ‘look Ma no hands’ reading.

  1. There are three variants – the 2 piece Coat Case, the 1 piece Coat Case and the Ultra Vu 2 piece Coat Case.
  2. All three variants include a bonus screen protector.
  3. The Ultra Vu is in blue and red.
  4. The 2 piece is in black, red and clear – the clear is pretty cool looking if you like the Kindle 2 look and color.
  5. The 1 piece is in dark blue.
  6. The prices are $19.95 and $24.95.

Kindle Silicone Skin

This is the one I found most intriguing.

  1. Available in black, rose pink, green, and clear.
  2. There’s printing on the skin itself to make the keyboard, etc. easier to use.
  3. It’s $15.95.

They also have screen protectors – however, there are cheaper options in the Kindle Store.

My overall thoughts – good to see so many different options and the EZ stand and the clear, transparent case are definitely good ideas. It’d be great to see the option to personalize cases with photos and patterns or perhaps a return to address.

  1. The silicone skin seems like a great product for providing the illusion of higher display contrast.

  2. I thought you might be interested in pictures I took at the Plastic Logic Production in Dresden for a feature about the company.
