Kindle – 3 Free Books to kick off October

We start off with two free additions to the Kindle Store this October courtesy Suvudu -

  1. The Demon Awakens by R. A. Salvatore. Its rated 4.5 stars arcoss 118 reviews.
    Is this Salvatore's best work?

    Is this Salvatore's best work?

    Suvudu describes it as -

The Demon Awakens is considered by most of my friends—readers and authors alike—to be Salvatore’s best series. Not to take anything away from Drizzt, but the sheer amount of work Salvatore put into the world of Corona is quickly evident just from the first few pages.

  2. Starfist: First to Fight by David Sherman and Dan Cragg. 4 star rating across 32 reviews. It’s at #80 on the bestsellers chart while the Demon Awakens is at #86.

The third free book in the Kindle Store this October -

  1. Giving Chase by Lauren Dane. It’s a romance novel dropped from its $11.95 price to $0 and it seems to be the first in a series. 10 of the 22 reviews are 5 stars.

Update: A 4th free option for October – The Templar Legacy by Steve Berry. Oct 2nd.

Also worth considering are some bargain priced books making their way up the charts -

  1. The best pick is Outlander by Diana Gabaldon for just $2.39. It’s rated 4.5 stars across 1,507 reviews, 1,176 of which are 4.5 stars.
  2. The Romance Novel Devil in a Kilt by Sue-Ellen Welfonder has dropped from $7 to $1.99. It’s very well rated with 4.5 stars across 35 reviews and great reviews from authors – plus there’s a man in a kilt on the cover.
  3. Orbit’s $1 ebook offer for this month is Philip Palmer’s Debatable Space. Interestingly enough it’s gotten really bad reviews – at $1 it might be worth getting and reading the first few chapters.

The first two books are must-get – they’re very well reviewed and very cheap. Publishers are beginning to experiment with a lot of different strategies and it’s refreshing to see.

Indie Author of the Day

Denny Swartzlander’s Eleganta is skyrocketing up the charts and it’s well reviewed (only 2 reviews though). At $1 it’s a fairy tale worth the gamble.

Love the cover – it’s very appropriate for ‘A novel of Fairykind’.
