Kindle Movers and Shakers – free book

The Kindle Movers and Shakers list always throws up great surprises -

  1. Free Books.
  2. <$1 Books.
  3. Books that are shooting up in popularity for a myriad of reasons.

In many ways it is the best place to find free books (after this blog ;) ) .

Today we have a variety of pleasures -

  1. Naked Gospel by Andrew Farley. It’s free, it’s well rated and it has a great cover. Not yet in the Top 100. Also, the 5th free book in October.

Free and found via Movers and Shakers

  2. Eli by Bill Myers is rated 4.5 stars across 75 reviews and the kindle edition is just 60 cents. It’s #234 in the Kindle Store so you wouldn’t have found it in the main Bestsellers list.
  3. Sherlock Holmes: The Complete Collection for $0.99. Its got a cover with what looks like Sherlock Holmes’ rebellious 20-something son on it. Note that a lot of the 4 novels and 56 short stories in this compilation are available as free kindle edition books. Check my Top 250 Kindle Public Domain Books list for some of the bestselling Sherlock Holmes titles.

Update: The Words Move Me competition still has three Sony Readers to give away.

Do check out the Kindle Movers and Shakers list yourself for more great finds, including –

  1. The 40 page prologue to The Gathering Storm – What the Storm Means by Robert Jordan. It’s $2.39.
  2. Lots of romance novels coming in at the $3-$4 mark i.e.

Father Mine: Zsadist and Bella’s Story by J. R. Ward for $3.19.
Lord of Pleasure by Deborah Melville for $3.19.
Kiss and Kin: A Sexy Shifter Story for $2.80.
Guilty Pleasures by Laurell K. Hamilton for $3.99.

More on Kindle Movers and Shakers

There are a lot of reasons I’m partial to this list -

  1. Its based on sales and sales don’t lie.
  2. Sales velocity is sometimes an even better indicator than sales.
  3. Where else can you see that a book has risen from 25,366th to 234th in the Kindle Store i.e. 10,740% in just a day. In this case it was Eli by Bill Myers.
  4. #3 on the list rose 5,041% and #4 rose 857%. This is sometimes true in a lot of other areas i.e. the best few are much, much, much better and sell much, much, much better than the rest.
  5. You can find out new trends i.e. new releases now tend to be $14.82, romance novels are now trying the $3 price-point and so forth.

Do play around with the list – it’s always fun to discover something new and interesting.
