Nice post.

I have to agree with you regarding the future of publishing where AmazonEncore is concerned. Self-generated buzz might be something that will be required of all new authors in the future in order to get published.

The world has changed dramatically in this regard. Some of the buzz that a few of these authors have created would’ve landed them huge deals a decade ago and everyone would be speaking their name. However, we all know that the world of books is not the same place it once was. But something had to give sooner or later with what’s happening.

With the advent of Authonomy, The Breakthrough Novel Award and even Chuck Palahniuk screening for new authors, the direction of New Publishing is now set with a clear and chartable course, whereas it’s predecessor still looks to be drifting in rough seas.

AmazonEncore will soon release my book ‘Greyhound’ in March and I’m very thankful. As for interesting life stories, I think getting published in today’s market is probably the most interesting.
