December Kindle Book Deals, Free Books

The theme for today in the Kindle Store seems to be kindle book deals. Here are some well reviewed, super cheap kindle books from bestselling authors -

  1. Update: Kindle BOGOF – Buy Village of the Ghost Bears: A Nathan Active Mystery and receive White Sky, Black Ice free.
  2. The Boss by Stan Pottinger. It’s rated 5 stars across 6 reviews and costs just 75 cents. Mr. Pottinger has a past bestseller and this book, set to a Big Oil background, seems pretty cool.
  3. Lethally Blonde by Kate White is rated 4 stars on 29 reviews and is just 25 cents. Kate White is Cosmopolitan magazine’s editor-in-chief.
  4. Romance Novelist Dana Marie Bell has one free book (already mentioned a few days ago) and lots of books in the $2.80 to $3.60 books. Perhaps because of the free book offer and perhaps due to good writing the other books are rising up the charts.
  5. Another romance novelist, Susan Crandall, has two books priced at $1.99 that are also rapidly rising up the sales charts.
  6. NY Times bestselling author Joseph Wambaugh’s The New Centurions is just $1.99. It’s rated 4.5 stars across 19 reviews.

It’s quite a good round-up of kindle book deals and yet another sign of the irreversible slide towards zero. It’s easy to rationalize it as book marketing - However, everyone’s doing it and it’s not that long before it’ll extend to the author’s 2nd book and then to all of the author’s books.

Here are some free books and offers courtesy MobileRead -

  1. Neil Gaiman’s Coraline is free online – great for kids.
  2. Cooler Books have a free ebook and a free audio book of Peter Pan. You have to get the links via email – However, you can choose to unsubscribe from their offers.
  3. Harlequin $4 off coupon code: NEWSLETT4KJ. Valid till end of 2009 and for one time use only.

ShortCovers confuse me – their deal of the day is an ebook, A Mad Desire to Dance, for $11.99 in Canada. That’s the regular ebook price – what’s the deal?

Are there other Santas?

Just saw an advertisement for Macy’s and Santa Claus and it makes me wonder – What other things similar to Santa Claus exist?

Things that we believe in with all our heart and then at a certain age (or at a certain level of awareness) we find out these things don’t really exist.

  1. Lethally Blond must have been a one day price… its up to $6.39 now :(

    • Yup. This is beginning to happen quite often i.e. put up a great deal, sales go very high, then the price gets marked up.

    • consider subscribing to the ‘Free Books’ category – link on the right.
Then you get information as soon as I post and you’ll be able to get the good prices as they happen.
