Lots of useful little Kindle Additions -
Kindle Wish List Support – Kindle Books can now be added to any wishlist
The official Kindle Blog lets us know that we can now add Kindle Books to any Amazon Wish List, plus we can do this from the Kindle itself -
Now you can add Kindle books to your Amazon.com Wish List from the Kindle Store on your Kindle.
You can track Kindle items you are interested in by accessing “Your Wish List” from the Kindle Store menu on Kindle or by visiting Amazon.com/wishlist on the web.
Any books you selected via ’Save for Later’ will be moved to a new private Wish List.
Please note that you still can’t gift Kindle Books.
That’s not the only new useful addition.
Permanent Delete Feature lets you remove books from Archive
From the Kindle forums we get news of a Permanent Delete option that lets you delete books from your Archive -
On Amazon.com
Go to Manage Your Kindle then click on any title (click on the little plus icon next to the title).
On the bottom right of the drop-down box, there is now a button to “Delete this Title”.
You’ll see a confirmation first: “Are you sure you want to permanently delete this title? Doing so will permanently remove this title from your account, and you will have to re-purchase it if you want to read it again.”
(If you’re sure you want to delete the title forever) Click Yes.
On the Kindle
Then turn on your wireless and Sync and Check for New Items. The deleted item will be gone from the Kindle and the Archive. Yay!
Another very useful little addition.
This is being released in stages (not by country, just in stages) so you might not have the option yet.
Kindle Free Book and Stephen King Price Drop
It’s yet another free religious book and a price drop on the latest Stephen King -
- The Voice: New Testament by Thomas Nelson is free. Rated 4 stars on 16 reviews.
- Stephen King’s Under the Dome has been reduced to $7.99 – it ships December 24th, 2009.
- If you like romance, Harlequin Silhouette has a 6-pack for $9.99. It includes NY Times bestselling authors Susan Mallery (High-Powered, Hot Blooded) and Diana Palmer (The Maverick).
Two $1 indie titles worth your time -
- The Undead Situation by Eloise J. Knapp. It’s 757th in the Kindle Store.
- Days’ End by Scott L. Collins is $1 and rated 4.5 stars on 10 reviews. It’s 888th in the Kindle Store. In Hong Kong that’s better than being #1.
Books on the Knob points us to some savings -
- Free Audiobook of The Brothers Karamazov at ChristianAudio. Use coupon code: DEC2009 to get the book free. Dostoevsky’s other works are on sale at $7.49.
- There is a year-end sale at Fictionwise - It’s 40% to 60% off of ebooks. Do get the multi-format books as they are the only ones that work on the Kindle.
In other news we find out that some pro-Nook, anti-Kindle miscreants are using the official Kindle Reviews as an avenue to promote the Nook. Probably the same people who were posting pro-Nook threads on the Kindle forums. Rather amusing.

I’m not seeing this new Delete feature in my Manage Kindle page.
When clicking on one of the books the drop down on the right only has Transfer to Kindle or iPhone options.
I wonder if this is being fazed in? Country specific? I’m in the US.
It might be being phased in. Will check in a bit and let you know whether it works for me.
I’m also in the US, and I do not have the new delete feature either. Tried it in Firefox 3.5 and IE 8.
The delete feature appears to be there for only the first page in IE 8. It disappears if I go to the next page, try resorting by another item, or try to search. Pretty frustrating….
That’s too bad. People have talked about not getting it – but this is the first this error has come up.
Perhaps people haven’t really tried to browse through their titles and delete.
Give Amazon a few days – think they’re still working out the issues.
