5 kindle free books – it’s raining books

5 kindle free books this Monday to add to the 5 kindle free books we had earlier -

  1. Flowers for Elvis by Julia Schuster. Rated 4.5 stars on 9 reviews. It’s quirky southern fiction from Bell Bridge books.

Flowers For Elvis is quirky Southern fiction with a literary edge, surprising humor and an uplifting spirit. In 1956, Olivia and her twin sister are born to a nun an old auto parts store turned convent in rural Mississippi. Little Olivia doesn’t survive the day, but her spunky spirit hangs around and takes on the role of ethereal watchdog over her twin.

When the Reverend Mother-and holy guilt-convince the nun’s sister (a young pregnant newlywed) to secretly raise the baby as the twin of her own soon-to-be-born child, Olivia realizes the urgency of her presence and support. Not only is her aunt a fanatical Elvis fan, she’s a renegade Southern belle

  2. Premiere by Melody Carlson. Rated 4 stars on 7 reviews.

Paige and Erin Forrester have been given the opportunity of a lifetime: a chance to host their own fashion reality show on television. Unfortunately, Erin would rather be behind the camera than appearing on it.

Luckily, her beautiful sister is a natural, at both fashion and at hosting. This gives Erin the opportunity to work on the crew and act as a chaperon/moral compass to Paige. A guest spot on a catty teen reality series provides a chance for the sisters to launch their show, but it does not go as planned and leaves the future of the show in jeopardy.

  3. Ronald Reagan’s Leadership Lessons. Part of a series of shorts by FT Press.

Ronald Reagan was a product of America’s heartland, a kid who had a Huck Finn childhood and never lost his aw-shucks, all-American optimism. He moved to Hollywood, became a minor film star, and got involved in politics-at first on the left. But in the shadow of the 1950s anti-Communism furor, he moved to the right and began a steady rise to the pinnacle of power.

Initially derided as a lightweight, a none-too-bright actor incapable of leading a nation, he proved his detractors wrong. Using extraordinary charm, conviction, communication skills, and stagecraft, Reagan became one of the most beloved, admired, and influential presidents in American history.

  4. Warrior’s Apprentice by Lois McMaster Bujold is free at Baen. It’s Science Fiction and Lois Bujold has won five Huge Awards and three Nebula awards. You do have to register with Baen though it’s quick.

Discharged from the Barrarayan academy after flunking the physical, a discouraged Miles Vorkosigan takes possession of a jumpship and becomes the leader of a mercenary force that expands to a fleet of treasonous proportions

  5. The Book of Adam by Robert M. Hopper is free at Smashwords. It’s the autobiography of the first human clone.

Nine months after I died, my daughter gave birth to me.

Adam’s memoir draws us into a world where it’s soon common to have your genetic twin born after your death: the bigotry he faces in youth, haunting dreams of the man from whom he was cloned, and his inner search for his soul.
