    Review from T. Stevenson:

This is an excellent book on worship. Sproul stresses the importance of the use of the 5 senses in worship. it is also a solid apologetic on infant baptism and he makes a great appeal for the use of wine in the Lord’s supper. This book will unfortunately fall on deaf ears, but happy is the church that follows his suggestions.

Teenagers Peter and Julia fall into a glowing pond in their grandparents’ garden and find themselves in Aedyn—a small, former paradise ruled for the past few centuries by a trio of masked tyrants.

Hailed by the enslaved populace as chosen ones sent by the Lord of Hosts to throw off the oppressors, Peter and Julia participate in a secret communion ceremony (“Why do we eat salted fish on this night of the year and on no other night?”) then lead a successful rebellion.

Geri’s words encouraged me – and even pushed me – to examine my patterns of relating to God and to those closest to me. Her example of living in the freedom that comes from being confident of God’s love inspires me to do some intentional soul work. Thank you, Geri.” — –Kay Warren, Founder, HIV/AIDS Initiative

  11. The Land Between: Finding God in Difficult Transitions by Jeff Manion. Genre: Religious, Spiritual. Rated 5 stars on 11 reviews.

In this Ebook edition of The Land Between, author Jeff Manion uses the biblical story of the Israelites’ journey through Sinai desert as a metaphor for being in undesired, transitional space. After enduring generations of slavery in Egypt, the descendants of Jacob travel through the desert (the land between) toward their new home in Canaan. They crave the food of their former home in Egypt and despise their present environment. They are unable to go back and incapable of moving forward. The Land Between explores the way in which the Israelites’ reactions can provide insight and guidance on how to respond to God during our own seasons of difficult transition.

  13. Mozart’s Sister by Nancy Moser. Genre: Historical, Religious. Rated 4.5 stars on 15 reviews.

In the shadow of her famous sibling, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, older sister Nannerl was perhaps no less talented but devoid of the opportunities of the time because of her sex and a controlling parent.

At least this is the argument presented in this historical novel by Moser, author of numerous inspirational novels, including the Sister Circle series. As told by Nannerl in the first person, a demanding father channels his love and energies into his young son. Although Nannerl performs, her father denies her a chance at fame—and perhaps more important, the lion’s share of his attention and love.

  1. It looks like religious Kindle owners will never have to buy another book for the rest of their lives.

  2. Excellent selection; thanks for sharing! Walter Wangerin, Jr. is a great author and story-teller. If anyone is searching for a book that makes the Bible more accessible, I highly recommend another title of his, “The Book of God”, the Bible written as a novel.

  3. It isn’t showing up as free when I go there.

  4. Never Blame the Umpire, and the book by Don Brown, are both christian books as well afait.
