Quick Kindle Book Deals, Amazon matches competitor’s Daily Deal

Here are some interesting deals for your Kindle.

B&N started its own version of Kindle Daily Deal. Obviously, Amazon is matching the offers.

Black Hawk Down by Mark Bowden. Price: $2.99. Genre: Military Writing, Africa, War, 21st Century. Rated 4.5 stars on 700 reviews. 400 pages.

This is military writing at its breathless best. Bowden (Bringing the Heat) has used his journalistic skills to find and interview key participants on both sides of the October 1993 raid into the heart of Mogadishu, Somalia, a raid that quickly became the most intensive close combat Americans have engaged in since the Vietnam War.

* Journalist Mark Bowden delivers a strikingly detailed account of the 1993 nightmare operation in Mogadishu that left 18 American soldiers dead and many more wounded.

The Columbus Trilogy: The Silver Bear, Columbus, and Dark Men by Derek Haas. Price: $2.99. Genre: Suspense Novels. The Author was nominated for the Barry Award and is the co-screenwriter of Wanted and 3:10 to Yuma. The individual books are all rated 4.5 stars or 5 stars and if bought individually would be $24.28.

Lord and Lady Spy by Shana Galen. Price: $1. Genre: Regency, Historical Romance, Historical Fiction. Rated 5 stars on 8 reviews. 384 pages. Very reminiscent of Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

Lord Adrian and Lady Bridget Smythe have the picture-perfect high society marriage.

Little does the town know that each is one of England’s most preeminent spies– with their secret identities guarded even from each other.

Pooh Bridge by Nigel Lampard. Price: $1. Genre: Murder Mystery, It’s All Spinning Out of Control, Mystery & Thriller. Rated 5 stars on 11 reviews. 384 kb in size.

Last Exit in New Jersey by C. E. Grundler. Price: $2.99. Genre: Nice Young Ladies, Doing Things They Shouldn’t, Mystery, Amazing Main Character. Rated 4 stars on 41 reviews. 256 pages.

Iron Lake (Cork O’Connor) by William Kent Kreuger. Price: $1. Genre: Mystery, A Chicago Cop in Minnesota, Family & Other Trouble. Rated 4.5 stars on 54 reviews. 464 pages.

Now that Amazon will be offering a Kindle Daily Deal and also matching B&N’s daily deal – we’ll have two very good book deals to look forward to. And I’d pick Black Hawk Down over most of Amazon’s honorary slots for Encore books and Small Publisher Books any day.

  1. Thank you for this. I immediately bought Black Hawk Down. Awhile back, I bought a book for my nephew (and read it before giving it to him) that was written by one of the men who was part of Black Hawk Down. It was excellent. I’m looking forward to reading this.

  2. Certainly, that’s good news! Hopefully, you’ll come back with some nonfiction titles.

  3. THe past couple of days i have been getting blank emails – is anyone else also experiencing the same problem with regards to kindle deals/reviews???
