Sparse Collection of free kindle book, free kindle app, and deals for your Kindle

Today, we have a rather sparse set of free offers, but quite a few deals if you’re into apps.

First, courtesy Happy Reader Joyce, we have a single free kindle book.

Twas the Night by Sandra Hill, Kate Holmes, and Trish Jensen. Price: $0. Genre: Christmas Romance. Rated 4 stars on 18 reviews. 260 pages.

Next, courtesy Santa Claus of AppLand, we have a free kindle app.

Jigsaw Words, Volume 2 by Amazon Digital Services. Price: $0. Genre: Kindle Word Game, Kindle Word Puzzle Game. Rated 5 stars on 9 reviews.

Then, we have a few book deals.

[Kindle Daily Deal] Leaving Paradise by Simone Elkeles. Price: $1. Genre: Friendship, Social Situations, Children’s Books. Rated 4 stars on 75 reviews. 312 pages. Don’t understand why Children’s books always have social situations and friendship and other stranges classifications. What book is not about social situations? Even Old Man and the Sea has social situations (at least the Old Man would say so, and I’d agree).

[B&N Daily Cheap Read] This Boy’s Life: A Memoir by Tobias Wolff. Price: $2.25. Rated 4 stars on 154 reviews. Genre: Literature, Coming of Age, PEN/Faulkner Award Winning Author. 304 pages.

Here’s a book I can’t recommend enough (disregard what you think of the Author, the work is amazing)

How to Win at the Sport of Business: If I Can Do It, You Can Do It by Mark Cuban. Price: $2.99. Genre: Business, Life, Advice, The Truth. Rated 5 stars on 4 reviews. Lots of people write books full of tripe and platitudes and ‘things that sound like they would work’. Mark Cuban writes the truth. You can tell from the awkward title that he’s not good at buzzwords or BS.

By the way, he could have gone with How I Sold to Yahoo for Billions at the Height of the DotCom Boom … And Got Puts and Calls to Lock in the Wealth. The first might be smart but the latter is pure genius.

Finally, we have a few kindle app deals – all for $1 each.

Note (thanks to ransrider for pointing it out): These are NOT for Kindle Fire. These are for our good old reading focused Kindles. Also, only a few of these are available for Kindle Touch and new Kindle (Kindle 4).

Monopoly by Electronic Arts. Price: $1. Amazon seems to be painfully aware that there are huge sales in the Holiday Season and always has big sales where all their apps are $1. Just click on the ‘Electronic Arts’ below the name to see all titles. Am listing some of the better ones below.

EA Solitaire by Electronic Arts. Price: $1.

EA Sudoku by EA. Price: $1.

Scrabble by Electronic Arts. Price: $1.

Trivial Pursuit: Master Edition by EA. Price: $1.

Mahjong Solitaire by Mobigloo. Price: $1.

All in all quite a good set of kindle app deals.

  1. Beware that most game apps are not available for the Kindle Fire at this time. I am anxiously awaiting EA Solitare to become available for the Fire and hope it is soon! Had it on my K3 and now miss it.

  2. For those who want a wider range of free books to choose from, check out Amazon’s Limited Time Offers list. You can find it at…

Currently, there are 242 books on the list. I only found three that were not free.

Some are kind of crazy as they have “become an Amazon Prime member and read this book for free.” Amazon Prime costs $75/year. The other choice? Buy it for free and don’t pay anything.

    1. I’m glad that I’m not the only who has problems navigating the blog. Last week, I suggested that he create a sitemap, so he’s already thinking about it.
