I’d like to see a category relating to the Kindle browser.. perhaps called “Kindle Browsing” for tips and tricks and Kindle-friendly sites to check out. It was easy to drop part of my site Winesquire, for example, into a Kindle friendly format, and voila – wine recommendations are with you, at the store, when you want them (on a screen big enough to read them!).
i think the answer is no, but…
is there a way to rearrange the web bookmarks so that ones I use most often are at the top?
i tried looking at the native files/folders via the usb port to my pc, but couldn’t see anything relevant…
Not aware of a way to do that.
HELP!! will you please address the following issue?
OCR-
i have recently purchased several books from the sony library, but about 5 of them contain MASSIVE errors which have made my ereader experience very unsatisifying…everything from sentences including random characters (the letter “I” mid sentence to random %, $, etc midword), to paragraphs and sentences obviously dropped (who knows how many pages are missing?) to entire chapters missing (chapter 3 is followed by chapter 5)
can you answer the following questions?
can i safely assume that this is due to some sort of problem with optical character recognition?
is the problem “global”…in other words will the same book have the same errors whether purchased from amazon or from the sony library? will the problem be solved by purchasing a kindle and getting my books thru amazon?
are there job opportunities working for one of the publishers reading/editing these errors?
how do i get a refund for these books? sony customer support isnt very helpful..they have a “caveat emptor” attitude, and i am feeling very frustrated…it seems “paper” books are edited much better and in many instances CHEAPER than the e-editions. additionally, when i wrote a review of several of these books and addressed the OCR issue, sony will not post my review.
are other people having this same issue? the worst books have been the “shogun” series and “Public Enemy”
will you please address these issues? it would be interesting to know your thoughts as well as the comments by other readers…
thanks so very much

Tovia, unless you go to the official kindle forum and ask people about those specific books (shogun series and public enemy) – it won’t be possible to know whether they have errors too or not.
Haven’t found many (in fact, none come to mind) books with MASSIVE errors as you put it on the Kindle. However, this is a publisher thing and they may very well be using the same file for both Sony Store and Kindle Store.
Don’t really have any thoughts. If it was Amazon they would probably instantly give you a refund for errors. You could also go to the official Kindle Forum and warn other users against it if there were errors in specific books in the Kindle Store. Not familiar with Sony’s policies so can’t really help you there.
Switch11,
We exchanged emails a few months ago when I first launched my thriller Crescent Rising. I asked about possibly including it in the Kindle Deal listing. Since then, some good reviews have come in- currently 8 five star and 2 four star reviews. Ranking has been as high as #642.
More importantly- in the spirit of offering a little extra, I am giving away a Kindle WiFi on November 28 to help promote my new book Blank Slate.

Thanks for your consideration!
